Heaven's Begins production on 'MOMO' Creature Feature

Heaven’s Wheel is pleased to announce that MOMO, an inspirational thriller film based on the award-winning novella by Kevin M. Kraft is now IN-PRODUCTION. Production began on October 2nd in Basehor, Kansas. Directed by Kevin, who is also an award-winning screenwriter, it stars the writer and his son, Timothy E. Kraft, portraying the lead protagonists in this creature feature in-production now.

In the wake of his father's death, Mark Taylor thinks he and his son, Evan need some quality time together. He is certain that a weekend at the family cabin in the Missouri woodland presents the perfect opportunity and will strengthen their bond. But as darkness falls, their stay becomes a terrifying fight for survival against a savage night creature straight out of the annals of cryptozoology, with little more than faith, desperate courage and the four walls of their cabin providing their only means of defense.

Kevin M. Kraft portrays Mark Taylor, protective and well-meaning father who mourns the recent passing of his father, while he attempts to guide his college-age son toward his future. Whatever plans he may have counted on are thrown into question when night comes. And Mark must try to encourage his son even as their situation becomes grim. An award-winning author and an award-winning filmmaker, and sometimes-actor, Kevin wears a number of hats on MOMO, not the least of which are as co-writer co-star, director, and score composer.

Timothy E. Kraft plays Evan Taylor, Mark’s son, whose indecision about his future is quickly eclipsed by the realization that, contrary to what his dad had told him when he was young, monsters really do exist. And Evan himself may have to take the biggest risk personally if either he or Mark has any hope to survive the night...if that is even possible. Although Timothy has appeared and even starred in several HW shorts, MOMO is his first feature-length motion picture role.

Tyler E. Kraft is spearheading Momo as producer, director of photography, co-writer, special creature effects creator, and editor—to name just a few things. He is a talented filmmaker who has already produced and directed a number of short films, including the award-winning A Peel of Thunder, which he wrote and produced with his family, and No Candy, which he and Heaven’s Wheel associates also produced.

MOMO is the name of a local legend, similar to the Bigfoot, which is reported to live in Missouri. The name Momo is short for 'Missouri Monster' and it is reported to have a large, pumpkin-shaped head, with a furry body, and hair covering the eyes. Although written accounts of the creature can be found dating as far back as 1811, the first modern report came July 1971, near Louisiana, Missouri by Joan Mills and Mary Ryan, Momo has been spotted up and down the Mississippi River. It is supposedly a large, 7 ft (~2.1 m) tall, hairy, black, manlike creature that eats dogs and emits a terrible odor.
